Performance Evaluation
This section presents performance numbers that demonstrate
the scalability characteristics of Mitra.
We start with an overview of the experimental design employed
for this evaluation.
Next, we focus on a single disk configuration of Mitra to
demonstrate the tradeoff associated with its alternative
optimization techniques.
Finally, we present the performance of Mitra as a function
of the number of disks in the system and their logical
organization as clusters.
In all experiments, the entire system was dedicated to
Mitra with no other users accessing the workstations.
